If you’re looking for help writing papers—including grammar, spelling, style, flow, organization, research, documentation (APA or MLA), brainstorming, English or ESL, editing or proofreading, I provide help with any aspect of the writing process.
Background
I have been tutoring writing professionally for over 20 years, most recently at University of Miami. From 2010 to 2017, while living in North Carolina, I tutored diverse students at Wake Technical Community College, as well as student-athletes at NCSU, grade school students at private tutoring businesses, first and second graders at Raleigh elementary schools, and the Verbal section of the SAT to high school students. From 1995 to 2009, I tutored a variety of graduate and undergraduate students at several universities in South Florida, where I also taught Freshman Composition and Developmental Writing for 7 years. Altogether, I have worked with a wide range of students, from young children, ages 5 or 6, to college age and older adults, including second language learners from numerous backgrounds.
Besides tutoring, I also edit graduate papers, theses, dissertations, articles, books, book chapters, and personal statements for college applications. I edited The Naked Truth About Publishers Clearing House by Darrell Lester, former Senior Vice President, The Imprisoned by Jessica Soffian (12 years old at the time of writing) and provided freelance proofreading for a psychology manual and text.
In addition, I am Certified to deliver the MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), so if you want to learn your personality type to discover your learning style, how you process information, how you make decisions, and how you communicate, we can examine that as well.
